About

I became a therapist because I know what it's like to need someone in your corner.
a little about me

Hi, I'm Ruby.

I'm a licensed therapist serving women in California through online therapy and in-person counseling.

I work with people who are thoughtful, capable, and often carrying more than they let on. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves—and wanting support that feels grounded, respectful, and genuinely human. My approach is warm, collaborative, and paced to meet you where you are.

In our work together, I focus on helping you better understand your patterns, emotions, and relationships, while also building practical tools you can use in everyday life. I draw from evidence-based practices, but I’m not interested in one-size-fits-all therapy. Instead, sessions are shaped around your goals, your values, and what feels most supportive to you. You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin—curiosity and willingness are enough.

I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can exhale. A place to be honest, reflect, and make sense of things without judgment or pressure. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, life transitions, burnout, or simply feeling ready for deeper self-understanding, I’m here to walk alongside you. My role is not to “fix” you, but to support you in reconnecting with yourself and moving forward with more clarity and self-trust.

Warmly,
Ruby Austin, LPC

When I'm not in session, you'll probably find me [personal detail (e.g. on a long walk with my dog; in the middle of a good audiobook; attempting to keep my houseplants alive]. I believe the same things I encourage in my clients rest, boundaries, and the occasional moment of doing absolutely nothing apply to me too.

I also know from personal experience what it feels like to need support and not know where to start. That experience shapes how I show up for the people I work with.

All services are available via online therapy across California, with in-person therapy options for clients who prefer face-to-face sessions.
